Welcome to the virtual choir project:
Adeste Fideles
The deadline is December 23rd, 2021
How does it work?
-
Please use the audio files first, if necessary, to practice your part. These files can be found here on this page.
-
Watch the conducting video a few times to become familiar with it. This can also be found here on this page.
A few important notes:
-
Prepare the recording device in a room that is quiet and well lit. Close all windows and doors to avoid external noise. Sit in such a way that the strongest light source in the room is directed at you and not behind you.
-
Rotate the capture device so that the video records in landscape (horizontal) and NOT in portrait orientation.
-
Avoid too much free space over your head.
-
Set your recording device to 1080px at 30fps. (720px at 30fps is also fine).
-
Make a short test recording to make sure that the picture and sound are recorded correctly.
-
Look straight into the camera most of the time and make sure your face is visible. Always stay within the margins of the video.
-
After the last note you should look straight into the camera for at least another 10 seconds. Then stop recording.
-
Make sure that the picture and sound have been recorded correctly. If errors occurred, record it again and send us the best version.
-
Please also make sure that the volume on your headset is not too loud, otherwise you will hear it in your video.
-
The microphone should not be too close to the mouth, otherwise you will hear breathing sounds.
ATTENTION:
In the conducting video I will count 1,2,3,4,5,6, 7, 8 loudly in advance and clap on 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Please clap loud and clear on 5, 6, 7 and 8!
This serves to align the individual audio tracks and is extremely important!

We accept the following formats: mp4, mov, wav, mp3
Recording on PC/Laptop:
-
You will need a headset with a microphone.
-
Use the link to the conducting video, open it here on this page or on YouTube.
-
Then open your recording program in a second window.
-
Please record your video in landscape mode.
-
Click Record and then play the YouTube video and follow the instructions.
Recording on your smartphone or tablet:
-
For this you need a recording device (smartphone or tablet) to record the video and another player to watch the conducting video with headphones.
-
Place the recording device on a stable surface and at eye level.
-
Turn on your recording device.
-
Then start the player with headphones connected and start singing to the conducting video.
If a video recording is not possible for you, but you still want to participate in this project, you can also send an audio recording together with a picture of yourself.

Rename the file so that it contains the following:
